How Can abdominal Pain Along With Shoulder Blade Pain Be Treated?

Hello. For the last two days I have experienced fairly constant stomach pain, the severity fluctuates. Interestingly, I also have pain between my shoulder blades. Rarely, I will have a jabbing, although not severe, pain on my right side. I do feel a bit tired . Thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Right-sided abdominal pain that radiates to shoulder blades is concerning for possible gallbladder issues like gallstones, cholecystitis (infection/inflammation of the gallbladder) etc. Liver function test and ultrasound abdomen are recommended at the point for initial work up.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider for necessary evaluation. Management will depend on the underlying condition and its severity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal,
